I have had this plant in the garden for a number of years, I find it to be hardier than the ratings generally given. The plant dies back in winter and the new growth emerges in mid-Spring.
I fell in love with this plant when I first encountered it in a private garden nearly 30 years ago.
It enjoys a sunny aspect and well drained soil. It does tend to pspread a bit, which is no problem if you have a large space to fill like I do.
